In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child celebration, the Ocean Ambassadors Foundation led by Mrs. Olaitan Williams (CEO, Ocean Ambassadors Foundation) organized its 3rd National Virtual Maritime Quiz competition which ran from 11th-13th of October, 2022.
The keenly-contested quiz had participation from various secondary schools across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
The quiz contest was flagged off virtually by the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Emmanuel Jime. At the end of the first day, the result was announced by the Permanent Secretary/Tutor General Lagos State Ministry of Education, Dr. Mrs. Olufunke Oyetola.
On the second day of the contest, Mrs. Eunice Ezeoke, former Manager at the Nigeria Ports authority and President WISTA Nig. addressed the students on the various opportunities in the maritime sector. The result for the second day was announced by Naa Densuaaryeeetay FCILT.
On the final day, Mrs. Sheidu-Shabi Khadijat Ife, President, WILAT Global – Women in Logistics and Transport , General Manager, T.A Admin NPA represented by Mrs. Juliana Saka took the closing ceremony and the final result was announced by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
At the end of the final stage, Sadela Omobolanle, a student of Dansol High school, Lagos beat other finalists to emerge winner. Oyetunde Samuel, a student of Stardom Model College, Ondo state came second place as well as Doherty Tolulope and Fadare Oluwamurewa, students of Dowen College and Corona Secondary school respectively clinched the third position.
